Accent is an information technology consulting firm, specializing in utilities.  Varasset was developed by Accent's experienced, certified developers to be extremely stable and scalable for utilities of all sizes.

Varasset, the successor to Accent's successful PoleTrack product, incorporates years of analysis and refinement of our customers needs. Varasset is designed to accommodate functional changes and technological upgrades with minimal impact to your users.

Platform

Varasset is developed in the latest .NET technologies on SQL Server, making it robust and versatile.

Mobile Computers

In the field, Varasset runs on Windows-based laptops, tablet PCs and ultra-mobile computers.  If your field operations employees already have rugged laptops, they can typically use their existing computers to run Varasset.

Synchronization

Varasset's "one click" synchronization automates the simultaneous uploading of all data collected in the field and downloading of changes in the primary Varasset database.  This includes new records, codes, security updates, configurations and workflows.  Employees can synchronize from any internet connection--at home, at a wi-fi hotspot, or from a cellular "aircard."

Configuration & Implementation

Accent utilizes our Composer¹²³ methodology to thoroughly analyze each customer's unique needs and configure Varasset accordingly.  Our proprietary method has been refined over many years on many projects, and is optimized to assure a successful project outcome.

Varasset users can perform further configuration utilizing Varasset's powerful Blueprint configuration module.  New configurations are immediately pushed to all users through "one-touch" deployment and Varasset's synchronization process.

Mapping

Varasset's built-in mapping tools utilize layered, industry-standard shape files.  Geographic data can be interfaced to/from your GIS, or it can be drawn from other sources.  GPS coordinates can be taken from inexpensive Bluetooth devices or from high accuracy triangulated backpack units.

Reporting

Varasset reports can be exported as Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, XML or PDF files.  Varasset users can develop and instantiate their own Varasset reports using Crystal Reports or other common reporting tools.

Security

Varasset employs role-based security at the field level in the database.  Users, read/write/view access and security roles are created and easily managed by a non-technical administrator.  All security changes are immediately propagated to field computers upon sync.  Varasset security complies with CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards.

Interfaces

Varasset can run as a standalone application, but it is also designed to integrate with a utility's other core software applications using the web services and XML in Varasset's XGI integration module.  Please see the integration & interfaces page for more information.
